Megan Altic – Kindergarten Teacher
Megan Altic grew up in McKinleyville and has always had a passion for languages and cultures. She learned Spanish by taking both Ap and IB Spanish courses through high school and studying in Oaxaca, Mexico. In college Megan worked as an bilingual aide in the school district she had attended throughout elementary school, which had since developed a Spanish immersion program. That experience made Megan fall in love with bilingual education and helped her decide to pursue a career in teaching. She received dual BA. degrees in spanish and International Studies with an emphasis in Latin American Studies from Humboldt State University. During her undergrad years she studied abroad in Santiago, Chile for one year and Barcelona, Spain for several months. She earned her teaching credential and later a Masters degree in Bilingual education/ English Learner Studies. She worked as a kindergarten teacher (sometimes in combination with preK or first grade) for ten years before coming to Fuente Nueva.
